Martina Barrett is a pioneer in the area of Holistic Therapies having introduced many therapies to Mayo and Connaught in the Eighties.

She holds qualifications in / or has studied; Meditation & Mindfulness Training, Psycho-synthesis and The Transpersonal, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Counselling, Spiritual Psycho-therapeutics & Colour Therapy plus much more. Martina is renowned for her knowledge as a therapist and an educator, having trained or being involved with the training of many of the Therapists practicing today in Ireland, particularly in the West.

As well as a recognised tutor and facilitator Martina currently acts as an External Authenticator for QQI, and is a former examiner for number of School & Colleges in Ireland and England. She is a current member of the Advisory Panel of the Association of Reflexologists in the UK. She holds the distinction of being the first and to date, the only, Irish person who has presented her work at 4 Major World & European Reflexology Conferences, plus several Irish Conferences.

Treating clients who have been diagnosed with cancer can be a challenging situation for some reflexologists.  In this brief presentation Martina aims to:-

• Answer some of the questions that have come up frequently over the years during the workshops.
• Dispel some of the myths around using reflexology as a therapy.
• Give an overview of the benefits and most appropriate approach to adapt.
