ARE YOU OK, REALLY?
Based on Stress Management Principles and Techniques.
Monday 5th April 2021
7.30pm to 9.30pm
In 2020, Covid 19 took and continues to take SOMETHING from all of us and sadly A LOT from some of us. Either way, Covid has taken our lives as we knew them, against our will and in a manner totally outside our control.
In this ZOOM session, we will assess and evaluate what has been the TRULY destructive impact of Covid 19 on our lives, the relentless STRESS and TRAUMA that the pandemic is causing, how we can reconcile ourselves with the happenings of the last year and how we can MOVE FORWARD in a POSITIVE and PROACTIVE way. We then can embrace what will be the “NEW NORMAL”, with a newfound appreciation and respect for what we once deemed to be the “same old same old”, the mundane and the ordinary. We will never again take these and the most basic and simple pleasures of life for granted again.
Presenter Marian Hand ITEC MIRIL
Marian is a Reflexologist/Stress Management Therapist, wife and mother to four grown-up children. 2020 would have been Marian’s 20th year in private practice at her home in Tullamore, Co. Offaly.
Marian initially trained as a State Registered Chiropodist (now known as Podiatry) in the UK in the late 1980’s, but decided, albeit regrettably now, that in the absence of a comprehensive foot health program in Ireland at the time, not to engage in the profession here. Having continued to work within the medical sector, Marian became aware of an ever-increasing desire of people to incorporate their healthcare needs with a combination of both conventional and complimentary medicine and therapies. She subsequently studied for her Diploma in Reflexology under the exemplary guidance of Olive Gentleman in the Holistic School of Reflexology & Massage in Dublin and qualified in 1999. She established her practice in November 2000 and in 2001 she acquired her Diploma in Stress Management with the same school. Over the years, Marian has continued to build on her skills set with Deep- breathing techniques, Mindfulness, Meditation and most importantly, the ability to “open up” and talk, which is the first and most crucial step in establishing an effective Stress Management programme.
